This Is What We Are Trying To Do - This Is Our Goal.

Midwest Community Group - What makes it happen? THE KEY IS PARTICIPATION
I grew up in the 50's & 60's, in rural western Iowa and was DEEEEEP in the closet. After the military, I slowly started coming out in 2000 - mostly with the help of the internet. I lived in Little Rock, Arkansas at the time and vividly remember finding the LUST of my life who lived in Oklahoma City.
Needless to say, over the next 25 years, there were a lot of LUSTS in my life. From Omaha to Baton Rouge to Little Rock to Oklahoma City to Las Vegas to Phoenix to Lincoln to Minneapolis. They all came and went. They were all very good friends and they helped me grow, but it seemed the ONE thing that we all had in common, was the need to hide our true feelings for other men while in public.
In 2013, I came out to my family and school classmates (50th reunion) - that was a game changer for me. Now, even the VA (Veterans Admin) wants to help me if I'm gay.
A lot has changed in our society in the 65 years since my FIRST LUST in rural Iowa, the World has opened up and alternate lifestyles are now much more acceptable. No man should be alone and be lonely.
Now that I am 80 years old, widowed to a woman and a male partner, I want to try and help make the Midwest become more open for our upcoming gay men. I never want other gay men to go through what I did. (I think maybe gays DO have an agenda).
As the Baby Boomers begin to retire, they include the largest number of out gay senior citizens America has ever seen. The generation that helped pioneer the gay civil rights movement is now blazing a new trail through retirement, re-defining what it means to be gray and gay.
But not everyone is able to visit or move to far-away places like Atlanta, South Florida, San Francisco, or even Palm Springs. Some of us have obligations, and some of us actually LIKE (dare I say LOVE) the Midwest.
Why can't we have both? Love Of Land - AND - Love Of Man. We don't need to move away to find happiness.
But we do need to help - PARTICIPATE - the death wish of any volunteer organization is thinking that someone else will pick up the wagon tongue and pull it along. We all need to pull our load (don't go there, just yet - LOL)

We have found a restaurant chain - Pizza Ranch - (over 200 places located in 14 Midwestern States), that offers private dining rooms for FREE, and all you have to do is call and reserve the room. The food (a lot more than just pizza) is very good and economical (all you can eat for under $20).

Please reply back to this email if you are interested in attending such a dinner in a private setting where you can meet other like-minded men. If there is enough interest in the area, we will set up a date and time (usually a Saturday or Sunday 3 - 5 pm) for the dinner, and we will send out email notices.

We have well over 13,000 members in our Midwest Community Group database, with many states represented, but mainly the Midwest. Almost all of our members belong to some kind of dating or man-2-man website where they have a profile with their basic information on it.
We get requests on a regular basis asking if there are other members in their area so they can make a connection. Even though our MCG database has the member's personal information such as name, location, email address, etc., we will NEVER give that information out.
We have added a "Roster" button to our website menu that gives the state and city where a particular member lives, along with the dating or man-2-man website where they have their profile. Using their ID name, you can look up their profile to make a connection.
